5 WordPress Plugins You Can’t Live Without

We have built lots and lots of WordPress websites over the years. We are all about practical solutions for our clients especially when it comes to site management. For many of our clients, WordPress is the right choice for a simple and effective content management system that’s powerful easy to learn.

As experienced and active WordPress users and frequent contributors to the WordPress community, our team has used countless WordPress plugins – some great, and others well, not so great. Here’s five of our favorite, “can’t live without” WordPress plugins we use in just about every WordPress site we create.

TinyMCE Advanced

Customize your visual editor with TinyMCE Advanced by enabling, disabling and rearranging editing options. Oftentimes, our clients like a limited set of tools in their editor that help them keep formatting consistent. TinyMCE Advanced is a tried and true must for us.

Redesign means redirects! Redirection makes manage 301 redirects and tracking 404 errors a snap. Apache .htaccess i s not required. You can even redirect based on login status or referrer.

SEO Yoast

For us and for many WordPress users, SEO Yoast is far and away the best plugin for maintaining your site’s page titles and descriptions (for social too), xml site map(s), and content analysis.

Ninja Forms

Maybe I’m late to the party, but I am a recent defector from Contact Form 7 to Ninja Forms. Anyone can build an even a rather complex form with Ninja Forms with its simple form creation tool. I love the flexibility you get with creating your confirmation and notification emails, not to mention how easy it is to point to a “thank you” page.

Login Lockdown

One of the biggest concerns with WordPress or any software that is widely used is security. Help prevent brute force login attempts with Login Lockdown, which Limits the number of login attempts from a given IP range within a certain time period.

We typically do not like to bog-down our site with too many third-party plugins, but we find that in most cases, these five are a must. Whatever ones you use, make sure to keep your plugins updated to stay ahead of security vulnerabilities and take advantage of the latest features.
